KATHY
As of September 5th, 2012 at 8:49pm I was playing a fun and innocent game of soccer with my mom’s women’s league and I couldn’t wait to leave on a plane the next afternoon to my job off in Cali. As of 8:50pm on September 5th, 2012 I was not. Yes, in less than a second my acl that was once complete and beautiful, was snapped in half, in less than a millisecond my inner meniscus that was once a beautiful half moon shape, was torn to shreds and a half second after my injuries took place I was on the ground suppressing my cusses. This lead to that, I cancelled my flight, didn’t go out to Cali, had surgery 4 weeks later and now I’m able to write this because I can actually sit now! How exciting. I was really mad at first, but now I’m over it. I’m trying to look on the bright side, you know? For example, I get to see my family A LOT more, I’m not yelled at when I use our office rolly chair as my main mode of transportation inside the house, after my surgery the first words I muttered when the woke me up to move me from the operating table were “I’m so glad I’m alive”, when I got to wal-mart, my brother Sergei pushes me really fast around the store in a wheelchair…I swear we hit 10mph. So, I guess it’s the little things that I’m trying to notice.
Once I’m better, I’m leaving for Cali (again) on January 4th (hopefully) (please God). I’ll be continuing my job out there as a naturalist/director/main curriculum enhancer person. And then after that my job at Camp Timber Tops in the Pocono’s as Head of Outdoor Rec will continue. I love my job(s).
My boyfriend John Brown wants to meet you all. On October 23, it will be our one year anniversary WOOT WOOT! I love him to death. He’s going to the coast guard in Jan/Feb so hopefully there will be some military benefits there for me….thanks for paying your taxes!
I miss you all so much! I still wish I could walk down the hall and hang out and go to Sunday brunches and over eat. Love you guys.
